The Telegraph features If You Knew Me You Would Care

The Telegraph features If You Knew Me You Would Care by Women For Women International founder Zainab Salbi, with photos by Rennio Maifredi. Salbi and Maifredi traveled to the Democratic Republic of Congo, Afghanistan, Rwanda, and Bosnia and Herzegovina, collecting the experiences of women who have lived through war.

“‘War is not only military people; it’s civilians, too. Often, people don’t talk about life in the middle of war. People still have to exist and live and love and go to school and get married and have birthdays.’ It’s these experiences – usually lived by women, miles from the frontline – that fill the pages of Salbi’s book.”
