Last week, The New York Times devoted an entire page to Jamel Shabazz, New York street photographer and author of 3 powerHouse books, A Time Before Crack, Back in the Days, and the soon-to-be-released Back in the Days Remix, the 10th-anniversary edition of the much celebrated Back in the Days. In addition to this phenomenal piece of press, Shabazz is the subject of a documentary by filmmaker Charlie Ahearn, which is set to debut at BAM on Thursday, June 16 and run through June 26.
